Application of Skills
I volunteered for Listen To Our Future, a 501(c)(3) registered education nonprofit, as a development assistant, in which I drafted documents that would help the organization spread its mission with the hopes of securing funding for their tutoring programs. I assisted in grant research and writing and other development-related tasks.
Grant Proposal
I wrote a grant proposal asking for $80,000 for Listen to Our Future's (LTOF) capacity building. It took about 7 months of drafting, revising, and meeting with the executive director and members of the board to collect and report accurate data and program metrics. LTOF had recently secured more than $300,000 in 2022, but hopes to receive more funding for overhead costs in order to fairly compensate the program directors and tutors and expand their reach.

Case Statement
In the spring of 2022, I assisted in creating a case statement for LTOF. The President of the Board shared this document with corporate donors; it summarizes the importance in bringing awareness in providing free to low-cost tutoring to students from marginalized communities, to mitigate the digital literacy barriers magnified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
